FirstBizGuide is operated by Saguaro Media Group LLC ("we", "us"). Contact: [email protected].

This page lists everything FirstBizGuide collects, why, and how long it is kept. It is generated from the same settings the site's code uses, so the two match.

What we collect

Numbers you type into calculators

What and where
In the page address (so you can bookmark or share it) and in your browser's storage (to show on My plan).
Why
To show results and carry numbers between calculators.
How long
On your device until you clear them (My plan → "Clear everything", or your browser settings). We don't receive them, except that opening a saved link sends that address to our server, as any web address is.

Link-click counts

What and where
Sent to our server when you click a link to A1Locals, a partner or another site, or choose "Not now": the kind of link, where it leads, its position on the page, the page path, and the time. Our server adds your country, worked out from your network connection.
Why
To see which links and placements are useful and to report referrals.
How long
Deleted automatically after 13 months. No cookie, name, account or internet (IP) address is stored with them.

Opportunity listing submissions (not open yet)

What and where
What you enter on the listing form: the opportunity details, your role, name, email, optional phone, and license number for brokers and agents. To limit spam we also keep a one-way scrambled code made from your internet (IP) address and a secret that changes daily — not the address itself — plus the results of automated spam and duplicate checks.
Why
To confirm your email, review the listing, prevent fraud and duplicates, and publish it. Your name, email, phone and license number are never shown publicly.
How long
  • Unconfirmed submissions: deleted after 7 days.
  • The scrambled internet-address code: removed after 2 days.
  • Published listings: kept while the listing is live.
  • Rejected or duplicate submissions: contact details removed after 30 days.
  • Expired or withdrawn listings: contact details removed after 90 days.
  • Closed listings and their review history: deleted after 12 months.

What we don't collect or use

Internet (IP) addresses

We don't store your internet address. Our code uses it only to make the scrambled spam-limit code described above and to look up your country for link-click counts. Cloudflare, Inc., which hosts and protects the site, necessarily receives your address to deliver pages; its handling is covered by its privacy policy.

Deletion and backups

The time limits above are enforced by an automatic daily job. Deleted information can remain in our hosting provider's database recovery copies for up to 30 days before it is gone.

Links to other websites

When you follow a link to another site, that site receives your visit and its own privacy policy applies. Our pages tell other sites only our domain name, not which page you were on — except links to A1Locals.com, which is run by the same company as this site and whose links include tags naming the page and spot you clicked from so A1Locals can count referrals.
